Scania tankers get a second life as water trucks for firefighters in Argentina

Important visit at TVW Fuel Trucks a few weeks ago. Three fire chiefs from Argentina came to visit us. They were looking for Scania ADR trucks that could serve as fire trucks for their fire stations. A challenge to which we had an answer thanks to our experience in converting and exporting ADR trucks around the world.

Admittedly: it was quite a surprise when the three Argentine fire chiefs showed up at our door unexpectedly. Fortunately we are familiar with the needs of firefighters in South America and have helped the corps with putting fires out before. In many remote and hard-to-reach places there are little or no water reserves that the fire service can use to extinguish. This is why they often use a water truck as a mobile water supply.

Strong reputation

After receiving a presentation of our company and a tour of the facilities, the commanders paid a visit to our demo parking to find out more about our range of ADR trucks. The Argentine fire chiefs specifically asked about Scania tankers. They have an official local distributor for this brand and spare parts are readily available. We also know from experience that Mercedes and Volvo are often interesting as well.

Regardless of the brand, a converted ADR tank truck is ideal as a mobile water tank. And customisation with the conversion of trucks is our speciality. We also have all the expertise in-house for the export of the trucks. We ensure all the necessary documentation is drawn up and that the trucks arrive on site safely and in accordance with the regulations. This means we have built up a strong reputation in South America.
